The Knight That Cried
Part 3
The woman came over to the Knight to look at his wounds — they were really bad. “I should really thank you. I don’t even know your name.” Our Knight said that wherever he went they called him “the extraordinary Knight” because he never hurt anybody and so he was different. “Why do you thank me?” “You see a short time ago a terrible man turned me into a fox because I would not marry him and you saved me today because it was a brave thing to do without reward and so you broke the spell. He knew that I would be hunted. My name is {donna of the bubbling brook.”} “that’s a pretty name – {donna of the bubbling brook.}”“you see this is the brook where I used to come a lot alone and dream and think about things. Do you like it here?” He looked around and had to agree that it was a very peaceful place.
“Well I guess it will be quite a surprise when I go home after these years.”
“I guess so” said the Knight.”Will you be okay or should I go with you?”
“No I think I will be fine, thank you sir Knight. Where will you go now?”
“Well we will rest up here for a few days and then be off to some cause or
two.”“Goodbye” said Sir Knight. “goodbye said Donna-sleep well and thank you again.” With that Sir Knight watched her leave and gradually the tall grasses and woods covered her up and she was no more.” Another great adventure had finished. You see he had always believed that life was a series of adventures and so he had always gone from one adventure to another, but although he really meant this something was happening inside him that he found quite different. He could not sleep. Of course Starfire was fast asleep and snoring like a bullfrog. He got up and looked up to see millions of stars.
It had always been important to him that he be clear headed so that he could fight well. Now there seemed to be some connection between his heart and his head that was causing some kind of trouble.
It was now morning and when he finally woke up he was amazed to find that someone had left some beautiful colourful clothes and a fire had been started with all kinds of food items.
There was also some incredible armour for Starfire and himself. He didn’t have to wonder for long where it had all come from as Donna rode up on the most beautiful horse he had ever seen. Now of course Starfire was right there to greet them both. There was no question about Starfire’s attention.
He may have been hurt but right now he nuzzled her horse and did not seem any the worse for wear. They were just like a couple of kids as they went galloping at full speed up and down the meadow.
Lots of Plans and New Inventions That Work
Good morning dear hearts,
Just in case anyone is out there nice and new I thought i’d show you how important you are by starting my day with you. 4:34 am and I found a way so I can play some nice music through my earphones too while I chat with you.
I did not realize how many things had on the go till I started to tell you about them. I now have for moving myself around the following: 2 Feet, 1 Trike, 1 Walker, 1 Power Wheelchair (cost $10,000. I only paid $3000) plus canes plus one Grand Caravan Van.
If you know of anybody who does not have internet try to talk them into getting it no matter if they are sick or old or handicapped. It is an incredible resource right in your own home.
Always have a Plan B, Plan C , Plan D, etc to fall back on..and if you have to use Plan B then develop Plan E.
By the way lets start a new entry called : new inventions that do what they are suppose to and ones that don’t. One that I got at CTC is a battery run can opener that you just place on the tin and push a button and stand back .It digs right in and cuts around the tin top side. It also shuts itself off. Can you imagine in an air raid shelter opening 63 tins of chicken noodle soup for 73 people by hand??
Part Two of “The Knight That Cried”
The Knight That Cried
Part 2
Quickly he mounted the horse and was off across the field and off in the distance they could see many horses going fast and chasing something. As they got closer it appeared as if what they were chasing was a beautiful fox with its tail full out and also these riders had some hounds running just ahead of them. Our Knight did not like the looks of this and so he stopped and waited for the fox to run past him and then he ran Starfire across in front of the dogs -oh could that horse ever move. The dogs got all confused and went tumbling all over the place to avoid being trampled to death by Starfire`s hooves. Then our Knight took on the 50 riders all of whom were really good riders and upset about him messing up their fox hunt. There were so many that the knight did not stand a chance but he was used to these kinds of odds. He circled them all around and around as his horse was at least twice as fast as their fastest one. He was just a blur of flashing shining metal and a long deadly spear. Now something different about this Knight was that he tried to never kill anyone and so far he never had- he did not believe you ever had to.
All he had ever had to do was make it obvious that he would win and then his bad guys would take off as fast as they could. Normally though it might be one or a few guys. Quite often it had been because of something said to a woman and not like now trying to save a fox against 50 men all of whom had been partying before they rode out and now were enjoying this fight.
Everything was going fine until one of them managed to get close to our Knight and stuck a long pole right into his side and then another on his other side . Starfire was being hurt too.
One of the men yelled “last one back has to buy the drinks”. That did it, especially after all the work of fighting this giant. So our hero and his horse were a sad sight with blood all over the place and Starfire was limping and our Knight was now slumped over his saddle . They limped back to the little stream and tried to get the armour off each other with Starfire pulling the twisted metal with his teeth . Finally our Knight sat down and tried to bathe Starfire’s wounds with the cool stream water .Now as the story goes some bad wizard had tried to court this beautiful woman and because he was so powerful the father wanted him to be happy – so he promised the hand of his daughter , to the wizard. There was no way she would ever marry this guy. The wizard knew that and so one night he went
into her bedroom and waved his magic wand over her while she slept. Suddenly she was no longer in the bed and if you had been in the hall all you would have seen was a fox running out of the room. Our Knight and horse decided they would both live. Then there was a noise in the grass and as the Knight looked up there she was – a beautiful woman, “hi “she said. Our Knight wanted so much to stand but he could not—maybe tomorrow. Even Starfire who was kind of leaning against a tree took note of her beauty. As a matter of fact Starfire was so entranced by her that he finally went over to her and let her run her nice soft hands through his hair and rub his great big nose. Our Knight loved his horse very much but he wouldn’t mind a little attention himself. Finally Starfire was so tired and weak he lay beside the stream with a huge sigh
A Few Thoughts and The Start Of An Original Short Story
Gosh I can’t believe how fast time is passing by. I just looked to see when I made my last entry which was May 30. Another month has gone by. My body has been responding to the “moments of Parkinson’s.”
It is okay that time passes well living under the tyranny of a disease that everyday tries to take another function of your body away. I have been quite impressed by the number of folks who have one way or the other old me that maybe there are folks who will never comment but who sit in their homes or residences reading whatever brings hope or occupies a little time because of personal experience or interest.
I find that my Parkinson`s body is reacting to the increasing presence of Spring and promise of warm summer days now.
I now have purchased a grown up Tricycle. Yup 3 wheels – mainly because I have always loved the freedom of cycling. Also because the 2 wheeler was fine as long as I moved in a straight line but the last time I feel it was at very busy intersection and I had suddenly a lot of people to help.
Gosh it is very challenging to learn how to balance a trike as it loves to lift a back wheel off the ground and I`ve already ended in a muddy ditch due to a curve and how it was banked.
I thought I would start a short story here and run it through for a few days. Hope you like it.
The Knight That Cried
Part 1
Once upon a time there was a Knight that cried. No!!!! You say.
Knights are suppose to be big and bold and courageous and strong and never cry. They ride through countryside’s in suits of shiny armour dealing with bad guys all the time. They are as strong as lumberjacks and very, very, brave.
No way do they ever cry!
I think actually they have their tear ducts removed! Well to start off my story this Knight was just like you said-oh he did some great things. Most of the time he was riding through the country side on his horse Starfire; all stories about this knight said he could fly like the wind. He crossed over a beautiful little stream and decided to have a little drink.
While he and Starfire were drinking they heard a far off sound almost like someone crying.
To Be Continued…
To continue on from May 23 and my next move.
I have a lot of ideas to pass on now. Depending on where you live you will
find that there may not be any separation of meals and room and services.
I was quite awhile finding this one
Then to have your toenails looked after can cost $19 to $40 a month without
any massage and bring your own towel.
Then there is a big difference between retirement residence and nursing
home. This one is both.
L also found out that there can be large bachelor apt. and small ones.
Nice to be near down town. Also pay attention to what is beside you.
I can add a lot of services—-a la carte.
If anyone wants to send me an email use sid@allcorn.ca : Still later.
I’m Moving Again, Five Moves Around in Two to Three Years
Yup I am into the only residence I have been able to find that has a full kitchen + full bathroom + handicapped bars (not drinking type) + first floor so like a motel entrance or through a hall way.
The best part is the full separation of meals and apartment. All others and one I stayed in for a few months charge huge fees + some meals are obligatory .
As life goes on I can get whatever services I want to add on .
Well I started my little note too late in the day and must get my beauty sleep .
Will tell you more about it in the morning.
Don`t forget the challenge re the weight loss (see May 21). Only 14 days till we start!
Challenge from Sid Allcorn head blogger.
Hi everybody. Please read the entry from May 21 under “Living with Parkinson’s” called “Challenge.”
We already have gotten $15 so you would have tripled your money and lost weight which you were supposed to do anyway–right?? So on July 22 we all win anyway.
Well you may wonder why I put this under the “Living with Parkinson’s” heading? First of all I am in this and may in fact win some money on July 22. Secondly my Parkinson’s Doctor says that it could add 50 years which would mean that I could live until I am 124 ( 50 + 74 (as of June 11) =124) and there are so many things I want to do I could sure use it. I sure don’t want to be awarded posthumously for all my hard work.
You only have until June 10 to enter (see blog May 21)
Challenge
I now weigh 239.6lbs, anybody interested in a 5$ challenge to lose weight?
Let’s say every Wednesday there will be a weigh in. Somehow you will let me know what you have lost. Use the blog (see below).
All you will do by June 10, 2009;
1.) have sent me your $5 and email.
2.) I will assign you a number that will exclusively be yours to report and no names to the blog.
3.) immediately you will send me (using the number) an entry to the blog with your weight.
Now every Wed using the number I gave you, you will let me know your weight and I will post everybody by number only.
There will not be any return of the $5 even if you quit.
Let’s try for June 17, 24, July 8, 15 and July 22 will be final weigh in. I will announce on the July 22 the winner and how much they lost and he/ she will get all the money that has been sent to me.
Another Great Day in Parkinson’s Land
I was so concerned that my son-in-law would not finish his roof in time before the rain that I asked God to put them off until he could finish.
I felt so lost as I could not get on the roof and help him out. Well God went one better – not only did He keep the heavy rains away but He also gave me a way to help. I guess you have to have specially cut shingles for the roof peak and they go right down the whole peak- and you need a lot of them.
So I asked about doing it for him. Well for the last two days I sat in the shed and cut what are called caps. I think that it helped as with the project to bolster my self esteem .
What I Learned About Myself While Working on my Wood Project
Remember how I reported going ahead with a wood project the other day. I also said how I would pass along what I thought I had learned about myself.
Well it actually took 2 days but I finished it. My Daughter said it was the nicest project I had ever done.
It was a planter with 47 parts that I had cut out on my table saw.
Here are all the things I was able to confirm about my life.
1.) Tremendous sense of accomplishment. Realized that in life generally the measure of accomplishment is commensurate to the level of difficulty.
2.) To read about how difficult something is not enough you have to try to do it as well.
3.) Feeling for something truly comes from some kind of experience with it.
4.) I liked the feelings and want more of the same.
5.) Feel pride and want people to see it, maybe even sell it.
6.) In my latest writing I must devise ways of getting my characters to experience the very thing I want them to do when I am gone and some game is no substitute.
7.) The very idea of the dangers involved can so easily become the very reasons for tackling or not tackling it. Much easier to not.
8.) The interest and challenge made it so that I never slept during day and stood up for hours even though most days I can hardly get up let alone stand for any length of time.
I sincerely hope that you will tackle your next project with Vim, Vigour, Authority and it`s good to be handicapped.
